GIOIA C. PERUGINI graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor of Arts in Art History in 1993 and pursued graduate studies in Art History at Boston University. Prior to joining Hemenway & Barnes, Ms. Perugini was the coordinator of external relations at the Boston-based nonprofit agency Arts In Progress. During her four-year tenure at Arts In Progress, she served as part of the development team responsible for grantwriting, fundraising and public outreach. In addition, she was a member of the agency's senior staff Leadership Team, responsible for managing the agency's ongoing organizational development. Ms. Perugini serves as a program officer in the Donor Services Office, working on both the Jessie B. Cox Charitable Trust's health care and environmental fields of interest. Ms. Perugini also assists members of the Donor Services Office staff in their work with other charitable clients, trusts, and foundations.

Ms. Perugini currently serves on the Grantmaking Committee of the New England Grassroots Environment Fund, a regional collaboration of funders and activists promoting grassroots environmental activism around New England. She also serves on the Advisory Board of The Healthworks Foundation, a newly incorporated foundation dedicated to promoting the health and empowerment of women and their children from all cultural and economic backgrounds.
